Concise Beam provides you with everything you need to design precast concrete beams. It can prove to be an invaluable tool for construction engineers, due to its capabilities. The software can simulate and analyze user-defined loads on beams, in accordance with various design codes. It gives you full control over everything, including how much force is applied and how, the shape and dimensions of your beams, density, resistance and so on.

The software is compatible with all modern Windows systems and it provides full support for both 32 and 64-bit editions. Downloading its setup file and installing its core components shouldn't take more than a minute, even on older machines. Its hardware requirements are modest and you don't have to install any prerequisite tools or services.

The main user interface has a clean and simple appearance, but there are various menus to find, on separate windows, where you can make all the settings you need, from used measurements to beam characteristics. Although it isn't something for non-professionals, the software's functionality is pretty cut-and-dry. Once defined, you can preview a 3D model of your beam, after which you can apply different loads and generate various reports, charts and graphs.

Beams can be created from scratch, by specifying a series of values, like segment length, lateral and vertical offset, support centers and others. Alternatively, you can load one of many beams from an existing library and modify it if you need to. As previously mentioned, when you finish creating a beam, it will show up on the main user interface, where you can rotate and zoom the camera, if you wish to see it from different angles.

Loads are defined on a separate window and it has to be mentioned that Concise Beam gives you a good bit of control here. For example, besides specifying a load intensity (in kilonewtons), you can also specify how it is applied. It can be an area or linear load, it can be applied in a specific point and so on.

With all parameters set, you can start generating various reports to see how your beam will behave. The software can provide you with numerous analysis in text form, but it can also generate all sorts of charts and graphs, to illustrate how and where the beam will flex.

Concise Beam gives you the possibility of performing a professional analysis on concrete beams, without too much effort.

Pros

Concise Beam can perform in-depth analysis on concrete beams. It can tell you how they behave under different loads, in accordance with various design codes. The software places a huge amount of controls at your disposal, so you can simulate different situations with pin-point accuracy.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to address.
